Drawing Sets and Drawing Equipment

The JCS Portable Drawing Board was designed by a Calligrapher and teacher of the craft. It can be used at home and whilst attending courses.

The drawing board is made from Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) which offers stability and a clean edge to aid ruling-up with a T square (not supplied). The carrying handle becomes the back support and allows the board to be angled on the desk. The black rubber strips attached to the underneath of the board enables the unit to be angled over the edge of the desk, to help maintain a more comfortable and relaxed position. As the rubber grips need to be placed on a straight edge of a table / desk, the board is NOT SUITABLE FOR ROUND TABLES.

The 5ply green vinyl surface makes the drawing board distinctive from others available in the shops. This surface offers a very responsive writing surface, a characteristic welcomed by calligraphers. Many calligraphers have found that this truly remarkable surface does not require any further padding.

SIZE: A2 size - 640 x 460mm (25" x 18") SURFACE: 5ply vinyl cover WEIGHT: 3kg (6.6lb). 2 large nickel-plated drawing board clips are included.

OPTIONAL EXTRA: You may wish to purchase the specially designed blue PVC waterproof zip up holdall. The drawing board handle protrudes through the top of the holdall for ease of carrying. There is ample space for carrying additional calligraphic equipment.

Drawing Board Clips are used to hold the paper in place on the drawing board. Unlike masking tape they will not damage the paper they are holding.

Ruling Pen is cross-hinged for variable line width. The line width is set by the screw adjustment. Lines can be produced using ink or Gouache paint.
