The Solution

Scribblers Calligraphy Skills Centre is a training community for the beginner calligrapher and for those enthusiasts who want to improve and expand their lettering knowledge.

It is packed with in-depth, practical training alongside numerous resources on all aspects of learning, practising and producing beautiful calligraphy.

Scribblers Skills Centre will:

1. Direct you through the vast array of calligraphy nibs, inks and equipment, allowing you to identify the best tools for your projects.

2. Give you step-by-step instructions on different lettering styles and the projects they are best suited to.

Meet Simon, the founder of Scribblers

You may know of me from Scribblers, but my interest in calligraphy began over 30 years ago, when I was working as a Cartographer for a survey company. I particularly enjoyed adding the text to the maps and diagrams. I photocopied pages from the Letraset catalogue and started to copy the lettering styles. This steered me to signing up to various calligraphy courses, which a few years later ultimately led me to teaching Calligraphy at my local college’s adult educational classes.

Whilst teaching the calligraphy classes I had the idea for the X-Height Calculator and Measuring Discs, which are aids to help you rule-up. Things progressed and we began selling nibs, inks and paper, and that was when Scribblers began.

Over the years Scribblers has developed into a leading and respected business in the calligraphy world.

Being in this privileged position has meant that I have picked up many tips and ideas from renowned calligraphers along the way.

As a calligrapher myself, I understand the frustrations but also the joy that calligraphy can bring. And this is the reason behind starting Scribblers Skills Centre, which I hope will help you to realise your full potential as a calligrapher.

The Skills Centre does not offer a quick fix.

We understand that to learn calligraphy thoroughly takes time and cannot be mastered in just a few days.

When you join the Skills Centre, you will get access to detailed courses and resources written by Professional Calligraphers who have had at least 5 years calligraphy teaching experience. All the content is comprehensive and reflects the knowledge and experience of the calligraphy teacher.
